Sanna has studied Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring subject business operation and entrepreneurship, Pekka's degree is Master of Science majoring subject energy production and protection of environment. We both have lived in USA several years ago where especially Sanna became familiar with B&B. When we lived together in Vienna in Austria we travelled around quite a lot and stayed always at B&B houses. This is when we really started to love to idea of this kind of accommodation and began to think of making one on our own. Now that dream came true and this summer 2011 we started our own B&B business. B&B is very good way to explore the way of living in the new country. Also when you make acquaintance with the local people you always get more detailed and interesting information of the area.
Our home locates next to the farm. Pekka's parents have bought the farm on year 1979 and there was raised a dairy cattle until the year 2010. Today farm is raising a beef cattle and Pekka's responsibility on the farm is the field work.
Our family really enjoys the trips into the nature and we all like to do lots of sports. We have even made a small fitness room in upstairs where our guests can also work out if they like. Pekka loves cross country skiing and hunting. The nature nearby allows hunting for smaller game as rabbits and ducks. Pekka's favorite hobby though is moose hunting and nowadays also bears hunting close to the Eastern board of Finland. Sanna's favorite hobby is fitness boxing and she loves to make handicrafts and decorate the house. During the winter we also ski and snowmobile together with our family. And in the summer we loved to take our boat out to the lake and relax by the water.
Close to us can be found many different sport activities. Kasurila Ski resort is located in Siilinjärvi 22 km from our home. Tahko Ski resort with more and longer slopes locates 42 km away from us. There are also very good cross country skiing possibilities and for summer activity Tahko offers two different golf courses in outstanding sceneries. 16 km away in Siilinjärvi is also a very nice golf course Tarina Golf. At Patakukkula in Siilinjärvi there are also very nice cross country skiing tracks and during the summer these are very nice paths to the run or just walk. Fontanella Spa is located right in the center of Siilinjärvi.
